Village Theatre Audition Announcement – Million Dollar Quartet

Village Theatre is auditioning for actor/musicians for the roles of Jerry Lee Lewis, Carl Perkins, Johnny Cash, & Elvis Presley for their upcoming production of Million Dollar Quartet.

Auditions will be held at Village Theatre, Issaquah (WA) on Friday, June 8 from 9:00 AM – 1:00 PM. To request an audition time please follow the instructions listed below, you must have an appointment to attend.

Character Description:

Jerry Lee Lewis, 20 – piano prodigy, rock n roll’s legendary Last Man Standing
Carl Perkins, 26 – guitar player, the first poet of rock n roll
Johnny Cash, 26 – guitar player, a giant of American music at the dawn of his epic career
Elvis Presley, 21 – guitar player, the first and still undisputed king of rock n roll

Everyone MUST be a stellar musician, dynamic and engaging performer and have a strong understanding of the rock style of each legendary performer represented onstage. Please do your research and come in with the strongest representation possible.How to request an audition:

A video link demonstrating your proficiency on guitar or piano in the style of the show – feel free to use a Jerry Lee Lewis, Carl Perkins, Johnny Cash or Elvis Presley song. This MUST be a link – if you send an attachment this will not be accepted!

You will be notified no later than June 6 to the status of your audition requests.

What to prepare for the audition:
Please prepare the following songs for the role that interests you, you will be asked to accompany yourself.

Elvis Presley: That’s Alright Mama & Peace in The Valley
Carl Perkins: Matchbox & Blue Suede Shoes
Johnny Cash: Folsom Prison Blues & I Walk The Line
Jerry Lee Lewis: Great Balls of Fire & Whole Lotta Shakin’

If auditioning for the role of Carl Perkins please demonstrate your skills on lead electric guitar throughout your audition, a small amp will be provided. A piano will be provided for those auditioning for the role of Jerry Lee Lewis.

Callbacks will be held on June 12 & 13, 2018

If you are not able to make the audition time on June 8 feel free to submit the two songs listed above that correlate with the character you’d like to be considered for, please send the link to your audition (video attachments will NOT be accepted) along with your headshot and resume to jspencer@villagetheatre.org no later than 9:00 AM on Friday, June 8. If you can attend the audition in person that is always preferred.

The roles of Dyanne & Sam Phillips will not be auditioned on June 8.

2018-2019 Season General auditions have already taken place. Open call audition opportunities will be posted throughout the year as the information becomes available.
