The American Shakespeare Center is seeking Stage Management Fellows for the summer and fall seasons. From May through November we rehearse and run four shows in repertory. The first two shows rehearse in repertory for eight weeks, through previews. After the first two shows open in July, we rehearse our third show for six weeks. We rehearse our final show for six weeks and open in October. All four shows perform in repertory until the end of November.
Our beautiful theatre is the world’s only recreation of Shakespeare’s indoor theatre and uses original staging conditions, relying on costumes and props to tell the technical elements of the stories.
Start/end dates vary by show/availability but generally start as early as April 27 and can go until November 29. Compensation includes a weekly stipend and housing.
DUTIES EXPECTED OF STAGE MANAGEMENT FELLOW:
Applicants interested in the SM Fellowship should be enthusiastic about assisting the SM and ASM with all rehearsal and performance requirements. For rehearsals, fellows will maintain paperwork, record blocking, and anticipate the hospitality needs of the company. For performances, the fellow will assist with calls, setting up and taking down each productions’ requirements, and running the backstage requirements of each show. All potential fellows should be self-motivated individuals who are excited about all tasks.
