As head of wardrobe for the Joffrey Ballet, Ellie Cotey has her hands full when it comes to creating costumes from scratch for a full-length production. Managing a team of 50 builders, alterations, dress rehearsals, and of course, laundry, requires a strong leadership skillset. Academy President John Bailey was joined by Tiffany Haddish and Andy Serkis to reveal the nominees in 24 categories. Guillermo del Toro’s “The Shape of Water” continued its awards show streak, leading the pack with 13 nominations. “Dunkirk” followed behind with eight nods and Martin McDonagh’s “Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri”with seven. All three films earned best picture nominations.
