MTWichita Auditions

The application for auditions will be available around January 3, 2018. For all non-Equity performers, filling out an audition application is the first step to acquiring an audition time. Auditions fill up very quickly.    VIEW ACTOR APPLICATION INFORMATION

We encourage you to wait to purchase an airline ticket until you have confirmation of an audition time with us. Unfortunately we will not have time to see everyone who submits.

Auditions for the 2018 season will be held in February and March. Times listed below are for dance calls. All auditionees must attend one dance call of their choice AND schedule a singing audition. Singing auditions are scheduled by filling out the audition request form. The link will be available after the first of the year. Those interested in auditioning are advised to check the website frequently in early January and to apply quickly – several cities typically fill up by mid-January.

Music Theatre Wichita works with Actors’ Equity Association under the University/Resident Theatres Association (URTA) contract. Union performers work alongside our resident non-union company members, who may choose to participate in the EMC (Equity Membership Candidate) program.

Base salary is $500 per week for the non-Equity performers ($550 a week for returning alumni), with additional remuneration for principal and supporting roles. MTWichita does not provide housing for non-AEA performers, but a housing stipend is available for out-of-town artists. Good housing is available at a reasonable cost, and within biking or walking distance. Each show rehearses for approximately two weeks prior to its opening night.

We always hope that our productions will reflect the cultural and racial diversity that we celebrate in our country. Performers from all backgrounds are encouraged to audition.
