What is the NETC Convention?
The annual convention is a place for theatre practitioners to come together to learn, share, network, and celebrate theatre in New England. The weekend will include workshops for all our of divisions: High School, College, Community, and Professional; play readings from our award winning playwriting competitions, Keynote Speakers and our Annual Excellence in Theatre Awards.
What will I learn at the NETC Convention?
At the convention you will have the opportunity to learn from seasoned professionals, your colleagues, and master class presenters. There is something from everyone, no matter what area of theatre you are in. Friday is geared more toward our High School and College divisions. The day will include our Annual HS Olympiad and workshops for both students and educators. Saturday is geared more toward the Community or Professional divisions and will include our first ever 24-hour play festival.
What will I bring back to my organization/theater?
- Ideas, contacts, best practices shared by theater professionals from across New England.
- A greater knowledge of how NETC works with each theatrical division we represent and how you can be more involved.
- A reinvigorated sense of excitement for the work your organization does.
Who should attend?
EVERYONE is welcome from high school students and educators to professional actors, technicians, directors, and producers. The convention is designed to include workshops for every area of theatre and workshops are for all levels. Our goal is to bring people from all areas and levels of theatre together for a weekend full of learning and networking.

Each year we are fortunate to have extraordinary theatre professionals from all areas facilitate exciting and relevant workshops for our attendees. If you are interested in presenting a workshop, you can LEARN MORE HERE about what will presented this year and submit a proposal for consideration.

Guest rooms for the convention are $149 per night, make sure to say you are registering for the New England Theatre Conference event to get the “convention rate.” The cutoff for the convention rate is October 4, 2019.

We’ve sent information to schools across New England and we hope to have a huge turnout from high school groups. If you have a school group that is interested in coming and you need the paperwork needed to register and sign up for the Olympiad, let us know! The Olympiad is NOT required for registering.
