ARTISTIC DIRECTOR

The Artistic Director (AD) will lead the development and evolution of the artistic vision for Actors Theatre. In co-equal partnership with Managing Director, Kevin E. Moore, the AD will also lead the organization to ensure the theatre company’s success – as measured by its artistic excellence, its engagement and impact in the community, its fiscal and institutional health, and the creation of an environment in which the entire company can do its best work and achieve both personal and professional satisfaction. The AD will steer the creation and production of work that embodies broadly diverse voices, styles, and subjects, and that will continue to advance Actors Theatre’s reputation as the cradle of new American plays and one of the most admired theaters in the nation. The Artistic Director will take the lead in season planning, engaging in a broadly shared dialogue and a process that ensures transparency and collaboration in artistic choices.

WIG AND MAKEUP SUPERVISOR (SEASONAL)

Working with the Costume Designer, the Wig and Makeup Supervisor will determine how to realize the design intentions for any hair, wig, and/or makeup needs for every Mainstage, Holiday, and Humana production at Actors Theatre of Louisville; this position is then responsible for the realization and creation of those designs.

The Wig and Makeup Supervisor will work with the Wig and Makeup Assistant to deliver those designs on schedule, and make sure those designs remain consistent and maintained throughout all performances.

In addition to managing the daily operations of the wig shop, this position will be tasked with training additional run crew members to facilitate any hair, wig, and makeup needs during performances, and as a part of our commitment to educating members of the Professional Training Company.

GRAPHIC DESIGN ASSISTANT (PART-TIME/TEMPORARY)

The Graphic Design Assistant will assist in the design and development of marketing materials in both digital and print formats for the 2018-19 Actors Theatre season. This position is part-time/temporary (9 months), working a maximum of 20 hours per week. The hours will vary based on needs and candidates availability.

DEVELOPMENT COORDINATOR

The Development Coordinator, under the direction of the Director of Individual Giving, maintains the donor database, takes a lead role in managing reporting and data analytics for the Development team, manages the donor acknowledgment and benefit fulfillment process, assists with annual fund activities, assists with coordination and execution of special events, and provides general administrative support to the Development Team.

FALL WARDROBE ASSISTANT (OVERHIRE)

This overhire Wardrobe Assistant will be providing wardrobe support for A DOLL’S HOUSE, PART 2, the second production in the 2018-19 Mainstage series, which will be performed in the Victory Jory Theatre.

STITCHER (OVERHIRE)

This overhire Stitcher will work alongside staff Costume Department members during the build periods for the first two productions in the 2018-19 Mainstage series: THE CURIOUS INCIDENT OF THE DOG IN THE NIGHT TIME and A DOLL’S HOUSE, PART 2, in addition to Actors Theatre of Louisville’s annual production of DRACULA.

If production time allows, this overhire Stitcher might also begin working on the second and third annual holiday productions produced at Actors Theatre of Louisville: A CHRISTMAS CAROL and THE SANTALAND DIARIES.

HUMANA FESTIVAL WARDROBE ASSISTANT (OVERHIRE)

This overhire Wardrobe Assistant will be providing wardrobe support for the production to be performed in the Victory Jory Theatre during the 2019 Humana Festival of New American Plays.

EXECUTIVE ASSISTANT

The Executive Assistant provides administrative support to the Theatre’s Managing and Artistic Directors, with secondary support to Human Resources. The successful candidate will have knowledge of the administrative procedures and tools required to support two executive leaders in a complex not-for-profit environment.

Actors Theatre’s distinguished training program offers a variety of professional apprenticeships in acting, artistic, production, and administrative departments. Full-time season apprenticeships offer in-depth, hands-on experience, and are ideal for college graduates seeking transition from academia to the professional theatre or for individuals considering a career change.
