Theatre Professor to be Sound Designer for the 2018 Winter Olympics

via SUNY New Paltz Online News Sun Hee Kil, assistant professor in the Department of Theatre Arts, will serve as assistant sound designer for the opening and closing ceremonies at the 2018 Winter Olympic Games in PyeongChang, South Korea. For Kil it will be a return to the nation where her career as a sound designer and audio engineer began. She started working on sound for musical theatre in 2001, and in 2006 she came to the United States for further schooling and to pursue opportunities to work on different kinds of theatre performances. I could not find any within our budget, especially since I knew I would need to reupholster anything I found. One of the great prop secrets is that you can order furniture frames from companies that sell to professional upholsters. I found a company that made a chaise in the style I needed. You can order a frame unfinished and knocked down, which means it arrives without any paint or stain, and it is completely unassembled. The cost is a fraction of a finished piece (and the shipping is far cheaper, too).
