MFA training in theatre begins with URTA! At the URTAs, you can audition and interview with our 43 member universities all in one place, on a single day. Why navigate dozens of different applications, fees, appointments, and travel when you can get it all done at the URTAs?
Choose your city—New York, Chicago, or San Francisco—and register to be seen by our recruiters in either acting, design, directing, stage management, or arts leadership.
Our nationally ranked member schools boast professional faculty, a commitment to the highest standards in professional, graduate training, and are peer-reviewed on a continuing basis. Most also offer various forms of financial assistance. Graduates of URTA programs are working on Broadway, in top theatres across the country, in film, television, and beyond.
At the URTAs, you can also participate in the Satellite Auditions, where dozens of additional schools are recruiting acting candidates, including several international programs.
The URTAs aren’t simply auditions and interviews. Your application will also be seen by summer companies participating in the URTA Job Fair. URTA also offers an array of continuing education programs, with workshops and seminars offered throughout the event in New York and Chicago with topics of interest to candidates in all areas of theatre.
Registration fees start as low as $100 + processing fees. Register before November 19, when late fees take effect.
For candidates in certain areas of study, URTA offers the Candidate Award which waives your registration fee for the URTAs and allows you free attendance to workshops and panels. For 2019, Candidate Awards are available in Sound Design and Arts Leadership.
